ESTÉE LAUDER

UX Designer, Treehouse Interactive

Brief

I provided UX design, usability testing, and product strategy for Estée Lauder and 6 of its affiliated brands: Clinique, Jo Malone, Origins, Bobbi Brown, and Aveda.

Objectives

  • To ensure a user-driven UX design and engineering process

  • To gather baseline data

  • To learn what content and design factors drive user engagement and product sales

  • To research competitors’ approaches to solving similar problems

  • To kick off Aveda’s website redesign

Deliverables

  • Usability Testing: implemented online usability tests, synthesized results, and created presentation decks for product stakeholders with next step recommendations

  • Competitor Research: analyzed competitor product solutions, created presentation slides with research results

  • Wireframes: after meeting with stakeholders, I created wireframes -- often in high fidelity for existing sites -- outlining UX solutions to address user needs and meet product goals

  • Content Audits: cataloged Aveda content and proposed taxonomy adjustments

  • Aveda Stakeholder Interviews: participated in multi-divisional stakeholder interviews to kick off the Aveda redesign; gathered redesign requirements; collated and categorized them, creating a streamlined backlog of product issues for shared prioritization

  • Aveda Redesign Discovery: usability testing, competitive analysis, and a site-wide content audit; delivered findings in a product strategy deck presented to senior stakeholders; with deck approval, I collaborated with the UX team to produce site-wide wireframes with UX solutions to address prioritized product goals
